Foot in the Mouth

We have all done it.

Said things ,done things which have been wrong, misplaced and down right silly.

But some of us have had a fair share of them , and we happen to be leaders or poiticians ,then our gaffes are made public. They remain there to haunt us not for the rest of career but for the rest of our lives.

Who can forget vice president Dan Quayle, his statements on space being “vast”,and his struggle with the word potatoes!

But there are some who had had their fair share of  gaffes, or putting his foot in his mouth, and in the history books.

Here are a few famous ones. By George W Bush. It is unfair that one person can utter so many gems!

General Musharaf of Pakistan is a Democrat”.

The inhabitants of Greece are Grecians.”

“The vast majority of our exports come from outside the country”.

“`If we dont succeed,we run the risk of failure”.

“I have made good judgments in the past, and have made good judgments in the future.”

“The futre will be better tomorrow.”

“We have a have a firm commitment to NATO,and to Europe,we are a part of Nato,we are a part of Europe.”

A low voter turn out is an indication of fewer people going to the polls.”

 “For NASA,space is a priority”.

“Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children”.

“It is not the pollution that is harming the environment,it is the impurities in our air and water

    that are doing it”.

It is time for the human race to enter the solar system”,

“The French don`t have a word for Entrepreneur”.

Priceless! Can you think of anyone else? Who has made such contribution to our entertainment. I wonder if you know any other quotes, either by someone important,or a friend or a family member who has said something which has remained a memory.

Or have you? Would you share it with us? After all the president of the world`s most powerful nation has just done it!
