Here? No I don’t mean
on this earth, but on this site? Why did you join?
It has been a year
and a bit since we have been on this network.
It has become an important part of at least my day, and
looking at the traffic on the site, this is the case with lots of others.
Some of us take it rather seriously, some use it to vent their
spleen on the issues they feel strongly about, and some just want to get a bit of
So what made us join my telegraph and stay on it for now, nearly eighteen months?
I will come clean and tell you why I joined and what keeps
First of all I wanted to see if I could write, express
myself and talk about the issues which I feel strongly about. And then there
was this doubt that would anyone ever read what I write!
Getting feed back was, and is great for me. I was a bit
lonely too. I do have lots of hobbies and I get out and about and meet lots of
people, but then this turned out to be different, as this seems to have the pick of people from across the world,
who share my point of
view, there are some who have had experienced life very differently to mine and
have a lot to say, and am fascinated to listen. People like Christina, James

them and found them to be just as I imagined them to be..
There are some who went away , after some dispute or other,
but they am glad to see that they still look in.
I have thought long and hard about why I stay, and enjoy
being here. I seem to get a lot of pleasure for little input. It seems these
pages have the accumulation of intelligent, interesting and varied people. It provides me with jokes to laugh at,
people like Squarepeg, and others who write about important issues, and a place
to air our views. Reciepes, banter, advice and information, it is all here.
The Bulletin and Jan h and the talented AntB, and others who
write in a way which really appeals to me.I throughly enjoy reading their writings. WW who provides fun logs and makes me laugh. And people like Shermeen and others who taught me about their beliefs, community and their way of life.
Jamie M poses some
very philosophical arguments, some of which are too intellectual for my little
brain, but I enjoy reading them.
Short stories and poems, and creative writings, which I can just look
at, and marvel as I do not have the intellectual capacity to criticise or
So am here, because there is a wealth of talent,
personalities to admire and stuff to learn, and friends to make.
Have you thought about it, why did you join and why you are
